assateague island is one of the most amazing places ever. it has just about everything you need for a super fun summer day trip- a quiet beach, 3 trails that highlight the life of the marsh, dunes, and forest and wild ponies. this first post highlights the marsh trail and some of the pretty ponies.
i finally developed my film from this past weekend and here are some shots from the crab feast. dan's lovely grandparent's have a house off the chesapeake bay and they have been hosting an annual crab feast for years on their beautiful land. i have been going for about 8 years and i have finally learned how to properly eat crabs. so tasty and fun!
we went to fort tilden last weekend for a few hours not so much to sit on the beach, but to explore the abandoned military forts and just walk along the water. it was a really fun trip and just a 30 minute drive from our apartment which was a huge plus.
film takes awhile to develop, so i am a little late sharing my july 4th photos, but it was a great day filled with lots of delicious food (including fried pickles from dumont burger on top), sparklers, and a not so shabby view of fireworks from the greenpoint waterfront looking through manhattan.
last weekend we checked out the greater new york show at ps1 which was pretty solid. i also love the exterior installation they have now. it's super fun to kick and throw the balls and there is a water feature which is always a plus and hammocks. we almost didn't make it into the museum.
brian from the blue hour found this new website called pinterest that helps you organize all of those random shots you pull from the internet and also credits the original source. i think it's a great idea and the format is rather nice. he also included one of my shots (the one of the tile floor) which is pretty sweet. i think it's in beta mode right now, but it will be open to everyone soon. you can sign up to be on the waiting list. check out brian's inspiration page in the meantime.
i have been a bit obsessed with central park lately. it's funny since i live in brooklyn and work in times square and i'm never really near the park, but i like to go out of my way to walk through there every chance i get. i especially love belvedere castle which is in the first shot. there are always lots of turtles around there too which is pretty cool. check out the other posts here and here.
