space landscapes

i love these "outer space" landscapes by christopher colville.

museum of natural history

i spent almost 4 hours at the museum of natural history yesterday and still missed at least half of the exhibits i wanted to see. it's such a huge place and always inspiring. the taxidermy animals are amazing as usual, but also the textiles and trinkets (usually tools to ward off evil spirits) from the asian, native american and african exhibits were also great. i love that there are no picture taking rules either. flashes are even ok which is funny since everything is behind glass and therefore flashing = bad.

vinegar hill house

today, dan and i went to brunch at vinegar hill house. vinegar hill is the cutest little area in brooklyn that looks like a quaint old village. the building across the street from the restaurant (which was built in 1817) had the nicest lace curtains. the interior and food at the restaurant were all perfect.

new indian tote

everyone loves lissy's tote and i just noticed that spool no 72 has another new indian tote that's equally adorable.

pretty prints

i'm not the biggest fan of illustration as art, but these prints would be very cute in a kid's bedroom. check out more of jamie shelman's work here.

brooklyn botanical gardens

today i continued my nature excursions with a trip to the brooklyn botanical garden. it was so desolate and magical.

upper west side

today i had a doctor's appointment in the upper west side, so i snapped these shots on my way from the train. the birds in riverside park were singing so loud. it was the most peaceful i have ever seen new york city.
