central park part 1

the idea of central park blows my mind on a daily (okay, maybe weekly) basis. it's 843 acres in the middle of manhattan and the designers of this city could have easily built a 10 or even 100 acre park and called it a day. thank goodness they didn't. i think we owe a lot of it to olmsted, one of my favorite people and the father of landscape architecture. i also love how well they have preserved his original plan. we walked around for a couple hours and saw maybe one tenth of the park.

Had no idea it was so large! I love the top photo. Why do all the film pictures look so old?

I love all of these pictures, Jaime, but especially the top one, which reminds me a little of Julia Christie's stuff, and also sorta brings to mind this.
