rachel howe
rachel howe is a photographer based in new york. i love this shot since it's clearly a portrait of neil (without the white paint on his nose, of course).
he is doing better today and hopefully i can pick him up this evening.
update: neil is home now and doing ok. he is a little weak and grumpy, but hopefully on the road to recovery.
seashells
i love seashells! this is a beautiful shot by eleanor yap from melbourne. check out her flickr page.

happy thoughts for neil
neil is still in the animal hospital. he was admitted yesterday morning and i will hopefully be able to pick him up sometime tomorrow. his bladder was partially blocked with "debris" which is caused by not drinking enough water and the small urethra opening in male cats. poor little man.
please think good thoughts for neil about getting brushed, chasing the flashlight, and making caves in the sheets.
here is a pic that ben sent of neil and otto from the old days.

times square park
if you work in times square like i do, then you have probably noticed the crazy new "park" that was created literally on broadway. it is a pebble esplanade from 42nd st to 35th st with planters and benches. i'm not sure how safe it is, but then again the sidewalks in new york aren't exactly safe, but it does makes times square just a little more bearable.
jennifer causey
jen causey has a lovely blog called simply photo and she also happened to go to the same college as me, uga. i love her photo groupings. check out more of her work here as well.

robin schwartz
my beautiful siamese mix cat (dan insists i include the word "mix" since he's a feral brooklyn cat), neil is still sick. he's had trouble peeing for about 5 days now. we took him to the animal medical center on 62nd st today since he's still peeing in the shower and they were super helpful. they said he is too stressed and that's likely what caused his FLUTD. i told neil that to alleviate some of his stress he could quit his job, stop doing his chores and stop driving us around the city. he was relieved the hear that. he feels better already. ha!
when we were at the animal medical center i noticed how beautifully the cats and dogs were all interacting with each other and how kind people are with their pets. it was really remarkable to see all the love in the room. who would we be without our pets?
robin schwartz is a talented photographer and an animal lover. she shoots beautifully composed photos of her daughter interacting with animals. lovely!!

a second life
lev just picked up my pretty imac. he works at the secondary school for research in park slope where my computer is going to start a new life. i found lev through the cristina foundation where they match used computers with schools and charities across the country. it's an amazing foundation and i recommend it to everyone looking for a home for a working computer. it's great to recycle and to help out schools and charities in need and it's super easy to fill out the form online.
here is a pic of neil with my imac from '07.
